Jakob took up the position as country manager for the Danish Red Cross in Ukraine in July 2022. In Ukraine, Jakob is leading a team of 50 staff, supporting Ukraine and the Ukrainian Red Cross in implementing programs, supporting more than 1 million Ukrainians annually.
Jakob comes with more than 25 years of work in the humanitarian and development sector, working in stable and volatile countries like Angola, Zambia, Pakistan, Lebanon and Ukraine. He has worked with Humanitarian Mine Action as well as long-term development projects.
As an economist by trade, Jakob has a strong interest and competencies within resource mobilisation, innovative financing methods and sustainability of activities.
Jakob has been in management positions for more than 15 years with a keen interest in developing team and talents. From 2014-2022 Jakob was part of the Management team in the international department of the Danish Red Cross, leading on resource mobilisation, innovative financing and Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL).
